Rena’s date of birth is unknown, but some information about her early life was found from strong sources which tell that she was born in Arcadia, California. 

Her parents were Susan(mother), a psychology professor, and Martin Sofer(father), who was a Conservative Jewish Rabbi. Her family moved to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, after the divorce incident that shocked the children. 

Rena was sighted by fans when she was 15. It was a New York Talent agent who saw her begin her career as a model but later turned to act. 

She started her acting career by starring in her first movie, Another World, released in 1964. A few years later, she was featured in the Loving film 1983; she played the role of Rockie McKenzie for three years.

Then, she marked her presence on television when she joined the ABC-soap General Hospital (1963) as savvy record promoter Lois Cerullo. 

Her roles were the reason for her popularity and winning the hearts of many fans. She won an award for ‘Best Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy.’
